The Costa Rican Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Costa Rican Ministry of Finance and the Inter-American Development Bank have recognised Ineco as the executing unit with the best innovation for the implementation of the Dispute Avoidance and Adjudication Board (DAAB), a key mechanism for the prevention and resolution of disputes in FIDIC works contracts. An enriching space to strengthen conflict management in public works and a strategic tool for the management of infrastructure projects.

Since 2016, Ineco has acted as the Programme Executing Unit (UEP) and is responsible for the planning, programming, coordination and administrative, technical, legal and environmental management of the Transport Infrastructure Programme (PIT) and the Road Infrastructure and Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships Programme (PIV-APP), in close collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. These programmes aim to increase the country's competitiveness by improving its road and port infrastructure, reduce costs and travel times for people and goods, and increase road safety in Costa Rica.

In this regard, the Taras interchange has recently come into operation. This key section of the ‘Taras - La Lima’ project is 1.1 km long and includes a viaduct of approximately 300 metres, with six lanes (three in each direction), as well as internal and external shoulders. In addition, more than 50,000 cubic metres of fill has been used for the viaduct access ramps.

Exchange of experiences

In addition, the IDB has invited Ineco to a workshop in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) to exchange international experiences in the contractual management of infrastructure works using FIDIC standards. William Abarca, Hernando Hidalgo and André Gutierrez Salazar, members of our company's team in Costa Rica, were our representatives at this event, where they highlighted Ineco's experience in the execution of FIDIC projects in Costa Rica.

Since 2004, our company has been collaborating with the Costa Rican government on projects such as the modernisation plan for the airport network, the National Transport Plan and the feasibility study for the implementation of a rail transport system in the San José metropolitan area.
