At the international conference Global Rail, which is being held in Abu Dhabi from October 8 to 10 , the president of Ineco, Sergio Vázquez Torrón, has highlighted the multidisciplinary capacity of Spanish engineering and its combination with the specialised knowledge acquired in high-speed rail as key elements for the development of international projects.

In the panel dedicated to consultancy, which Vázquez Torrón shared with the top representatives of the international engineering companies Arup, Rites and Systra, he emphasised that "at Ineco, highly technical profiles coexist with multidisciplinary consultants focused on management. A key mix to meet the challenges of the railway sector".

Ineco has shown its fundamental role in the success of the Spanish high-speed model and its presence in key projects for the development of infrastructures and mobility in the Middle East. A model for which "talent management and the transmission of knowledge have made Ineco a strongly cohesive company. A valuable culture that contributes to our competitive capacity", concluded Sergio Vázquez Torrón.

Spain has managed to develop the most extensive high-speed network in the European Union with the lowest average construction cost, as stated in the Ineco report: "Efficiency of the Spanish sector in the development of high-speed rail". Moreover, it has done so with very high design and quality parameters, at the forefront of the sector, in relatively quick times and without major budget deviations.

AI Tackles the Challenge of Railway Maintenance

The experience acquired by the Spanish high-speed rail industry is now a reference for the development of Abu Dhabi's new railway model. Having developed a network that already moves 70% of the population in our country, Spain is now deploying all its technological potential in railway maintenance.

In this regard, Ineco's Director of Consultancy, Environment and IT, Alberto Milanés, highlighted the technological solutions that the company is developing in this area. Among other products, the company has DIGAV, for the recognition of faults in track elements by processing video images, and InecoSAR, which interprets changes in the terrain using satellite images.

The solutions, developed entirely at Ineco, are based on the use of data science and the incorporation of artificial intelligence systems to add value through the technological advancement and digitalisation of products and services, as well as processes and procedures.

Global Rail, organised by Etihad Rail in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, brings together more than 1,000 delegates, 300 exhibitors from 40 countries and 15,000 decision-makers including policy leaders and industry specialists.
