The registration period for the second edition of Ineco RuralTIC is now open.
Ineco RuralTIC returns to the small municipalities of Spain. The engineering and consultancy firm of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Ineco, has opened the deadline for municipalities with less than 10,000 inhabitants to register for this pioneering programme, which will begin its second edition in November.
The company's professionals become digital nomads to travel to the selected municipalities and carry out social and economic digitalisation tasks focused on the local inhabitants and SMEs, while continuing to carry out their daily work remotely. Thus, in addition to demonstrating that teleworking can become a powerful tool for revitalising the rural world, the digital nomads are making themselves available to the municipality to contribute to improving technology-related needs.
Social and economic digitalisation
Ineco RuralTIC is based on digitalisation as a lever for social and economic transformation. Not surprisingly, the company has extensive experience in the sector thanks to a team of more than 800 professionals dedicated to this field and a broad business activity that has enabled it to become one of the main suppliers of technological services for the Administration.
The first axis lies in social digitalisation, with training and support in the use of new technologies for the inhabitants of rural areas, with a special focus on the older people. Ineco's digital nomads provide the inhabitants with different face-to-face workshops, such as the use of online services to carry out administrative procedures: management of medical appointments, electronic banking, etc., as well as training to learn about aspects of internet security or the digital footprint. In addition, there are personalised attention options according to the specific needs of the participants.
The second axis, economic digitalisation, provides support and advice to the rural business network, through digital positioning, with support for the creation of online services. In this case, the focus is on a practical application of tools that can optimise the activity of small and medium-sized enterprises, such as the opening of a website or the use of social media profiles for positioning in the digital world.
Second edition of a pioneering programme
Ineco RuralTIC 2.0 is the new edition of this programme that over the past year, over seven months, has managed to reach 39 municipalities thanks to 80 digital nomads who travelled nearly 60,000 kilometres in stages.
This work has led to almost 350 digitalisation workshops throughout the country, reaching more than 2,300 people, as well as 252 SMEs.
Registration process is now open
Ineco RuralTIC is aimed at all municipalities with less than 10,000 inhabitants that meet certain basic requirements: accommodation to host the digital nomads and spaces for workshops, both with 4G connection.
Municipalities can register here until September 30 so that their application can be assessed.
