Esri Spain 2024 Conference, Europe's largest event on geospatial technology and smart maps, hosted a presentation by Laura Martín, Digital Engineering and BIM expert, on City Information Modelling.

In the words of Laura Martín: ´CiM is a collaborative methodology that through digital transformation and 3D virtual scenarios will help to improve planning, management and sustainability in the urban environment. According to the United Nations in its 2030 Agenda, it is estimated that in 2050 nearly 70% of the population will live in cities. And already in 2023 more than 1.1 billion people will be living in slums. Cities will face major challenges in the not-so-distant future, housing, access to transport and pollution'.

Ineco is one of the pioneering companies in the use of BIM in Spain and is a member of the Technical Committee of the Interministerial Commission for its implementation in our country. The company has an expert team that provides solutions for all stages of the lifecycle and also advises clients on the introduction of this collaborative methodology in their tendering, monitoring and training processes.

More than 2,000 professionals attended this event, where more than 200 projects related to geospatial systems were presented, ranging from the digital transformation of the Administration and intelligent infrastructures to renewable energies, including future tourism and sustainability.
