The Spanish Minister of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, Carlos Cuerpo
Ineco participated in the Spain-Colombia business meeting organised by ICEX and the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Colombia.
Alberto Lacasa, Commercial Planning Manager, has held meetings with companies in order to analyse potential business opportunities in Colombia. Ineco is currently carrying out the feasibility study for the development of the railway between Medellín and Bogotá, through the Aburrá Valley. The company has been working in Colombia since its origins and in the 1980s was contracted to carry out the study for the Bogotá Metro and as a consultant for Ferrocarriles Nacionales de Colombia. Recently, Ineco has participated in key projects for the country such as the Medellín Metro, where he was responsible for the technical management of the design, construction and commissioning of the rolling stock, as well as supervising all stages of the project.It has also been involved in the Master Plans for the Simón Bolívar airport in Santa Marta on the Caribbean coast and the Germán Olano airport in Puerto Carreño.
Held in Bogotá, the conference was inaugurated by the Spanish Minister of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, Carlos Cuerpo, and the Colombian Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Germán Ureña, who highlighted the excellent relations between the two countries, the strong trade links between them, as well as the potential for collaboration in areas such as water and the environment, education, energy, transport infrastructures, information and communication technologies (ICT).
