Ineco joins the SHM-BRISAR project of the State Research Agency to apply its satellite knowledge to the diagnosis and maintenance of bridge infrastructures.

This is a project in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Valencia, IDVIA Engineering and ImesAPI; and it belongs to the Public-Private Collaboration Call for 2023 of the State Research Agency (AEI), specifically to priority no. 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility.

The general objective is to design a tool for the inspection of bridge infrastructures using remote sensing systems (satellites) with two capabilities: to prioritize which bridges to maintain based on the structural deficiencies detected; and to perform the complete diagnosis of the bridge by means of a digital twin of the bridge. The maintenance protocol for these structures is the most exhaustive of all those carried out.  Due to their characteristics, these bridges guarantee a good amplitude in the echo of the signal emitted by the satellites, which makes them particularly suitable for the use of this technique.

Inspection of infrastructure

Ineco will bring to the project its extensive experience in the maintenance of steel bridges: load testing, repair design, calibrated calculation models and a vast knowledge of their real behavior. As well as its knowledge in the application of satellite technology to infrastructure inspection, a field in which the company already has its own tools such as InecoSAR, a solution based on Artificial Intelligence to monitor the structural health of road infrastructures, applicable to any other type of infrastructure.
