The company has been awarded a new contract in Jamaica for the development of the new Master Plan for Sir Donald Sangster International Airport, the most important airport on the Caribbean island.

The new Master Plan will cover the periods 2025 - 2034 and 2035 - 2054 and will be responsible for projecting demand, passengers, cargo and operations, as well as the development of the airport in stages or phases. In addition, it will also detail the investment programme for the years 2025 - 2029, as well as the concepts and amounts of the most significant investments estimated for the following five years.

This airport is the main gateway to Jamaica and facilitates the transit of more than 80% of tourists arriving on the island, handling more than 4.4 million passengers last year. Located in Montego Bay, the country's second largest city, it is one of the driving forces of a country where tourism accounts for 30% of its GDP.

MBJ Airports Limited, the private consortium that manages the airport under a 30-year concession, commissioned Ineco in 2009 to carry out its Master Plan, which was re-commissioned and updated in 2016. Subsequently, Ineco also collaborated with MBJ in the design of the renovation of the check-in area of the Terminal Building, and recently we have been collaborating in the Project Management of the runway extension project. The company has also developed the Master Plan for Ian Fleming International Airport, located in the north of the island, and for Norman Manley International Airport, located in the south of the island and the second largest airport in the country in terms of passenger volume, providing service to the capital, Kingston. In addition, Ineco is currently preparing the Airport Planning White Paper/Desk Study For The Vernamfield Aerodrome for the Airports Authority of Jamaica (AAJ).
