Elena Curto, Climate Change and Energy Transition Manager 1 and Ruth Ballesteros, Environment and Territory Manager 2, have participated in the seminar "Air transport as an engine for sustainable development: challenges and concrete actions against climate change and decarbonisation", which was held in Montevideo (Uruguay).
Through two presentations, Elena Curto highlighted Ineco's experience of more than twenty years working on the sustainability of airports and our solutions for adapting to climate change not only for infrastructure, but also for operations. Ruth Ballesteros focused her presentation on noise pollution in airports, pointing out that: "the evaluation of noise impact is a key aspect in the consideration of air transport as a driver of sustainable development".
Organised by Aena and AECID, with the collaboration of ICAO, this seminar sought to raise awareness of air transport strategies in the fight against climate change and decarbonisation, anticipating compliance with the Paris Agreement to achieve zero net emissions by 2050.
