Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima (Peru) is progressively starting to operate a second runway and the new control tower after being authorised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through the Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics, as part of its airport infrastructure expansion project. Ineco, in consortium with the Peruvian engineering firm Cesel, is helping to make this important milestone for civil aviation in Peru possible by supervising these works for the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Public Transport Infrastructure (OSITRAN), working together with the Peruvian Corporation of Commercial Airports and Aviation Inc. and the concessionaire Lima Airport Partners (LAP).
The inauguration ceremony of the new 65-metre-high control tower, the 3,480-metre long second runway, more than 10 kilometres of new taxiways, approach lights, beaconing systems, among other elements, was attended by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, and the Minister of Transport, Paola Lazarte.
Ineco has been continuously present in Peru through its branch office since 2014 and has been a key factor in the development of airports, the modernisation of Chiclayo airport, and improvements to the airports of Trujillo, Iquitos and Tumbes.
