Ineco will collaborate with CPK by providing advice in all areas
Ineco will advise the Polish public company CPK in the revision of the projects of the Polish 'Y', the backbone of its future high-speed rail system. This project will mean a major change in Poland's transport landscape, boosting regional development and positioning the country as a crucial hub in Europe's transport network.
Ineco will collaborate with CPK by providing advice in all areas: tunnel excavation, acquisition, operation and maintenance of rolling stock, controls during the operation of the line or catenary, signalling and telecommunications...
The "Y" corridor plays a fundamental role in the overall development of the network. It consists of three essential elements: the Warsaw - Łódź line, a central segment for both passengers and freight and the Łódź - Poznań/Wrocław lines, which will facilitate connections with these cities and regional integration by ensuring that smaller cities benefit from better accessibility to the high-speed system.
Ineco has been involved in the development of Poland's high-speed rail infrastructure since its inception. Taking advantage of the Spanish company's extensive experience in high-speed rail systems worldwide, in 2022, CPK already entrusted Ineco with the review of the design standards for Poland's future high-speed rail network. This involved ensuring that the new lines meet the latest international standards in safety, efficiency and sustainability.
Spain has managed to develop the most extensive high-speed network in the European Union with the lowest average construction cost. Moreover, it has done so with very high design and quality parameters, at the forefront of the sector, in relatively quick times and without major budget deviations, as stated in the Ineco report "Efficiency of the Spanish sector in the development of high-speed rail".
A successful model that Poland wanted to import for its new high-speed network, with the help of one of the companies that made it possible.
The Largest Intermodal Transport Hub in Northern Europe
Poland has engaged in a major infrastructure development aimed at improving national and international connectivity by integrating a new hub airport with an entirely new high-speed rail network. This initiative has become one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe, boosting Poland's economic growth and regional connectivity.
A key aspect of the project is the extensive rail development, which includes around 2,000 kilometres of new high-speed rail. These lines will connect major cities such as Warsaw, Łódź, Poznań and Wrocław, drastically reducing travel times and offering a modern and sustainable alternative to current transport options. The railway will serve as an essential element of the national network, facilitating faster travel and better integration with neighbouring countries and the European Ten-T rail network
