Riga airport
Ineco has been selected to develop the strategic project of the Master Plan at Riga International Airport, Latvia, consolidating the company's position as a reference in Europe in the sector. In collaboration with local partner AS VENTEKO, Ineco will be in charge of the strategic review of the airport's Master Plan and Environmental Impact Assessment.
The consortium led by Ineco will develop this project for 18 months with an allocated budget of more than half a million euros. Work will include the development of the Strategic Master Plan, analysis of the current situation and the market, characterisation of current capacity and future development based on traffic forecasts beyond 2050, and a comprehensive investment programme.
Strategic relevance for Riga
This project aims to strengthen Riga International Airport's position as a significant intermodal transport hub for Northern Europe. The airport is expected to increase its capacity and efficiency through a new terminal and the expansion of its cargo facilities. In addition, an Airport City will be developed, including hotels, offices and logistics centres, with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
Qualified team
Modernising Riga Airport will be possible thanks to an Ineco team of key experts with more than 140 years of combined experience in the various disciplines that a master plan must cover: airport planning, airfield and road planning, traffic and demand forecasting experts, economic-financial and airport environment specialists.
A team that is also completed with complementary profiles to the master's plan, such as those associated with access, environment, safety, operational safety, airport operations, etc.
Ineco's track record in this type of project is evident in the modernisation of numerous airports, including several in Spain, as well as international projects in Morocco, Kuwait, Amsterdam and Greece. The extensive experience and expertise of its technical team in airport planning have been decisive in ensuring the expected success of this complex project.
Ineco strengthens its presence in Latvia with its participation in the Rail Baltica project, an ambitious high-speed rail plan that will connect the main cities of the Baltic countries.
