Why Engineering?

June 23, 2023

Ineco and the College of Civil Engineers of Madrid have once again organised a visit to our facilities to show students in the 4th year of ESO and 1st year of BACH the work we carry out in our company, as well as the real impact of engineering on new technologies, the environment and mobility.

During the day, representatives of Ineco brought engineering closer to future professionals. On the one hand, Inés Ovejero, Product Development Manager and tenth most influential engineer under 35 in Spain according to the '35 under 35' ranking prepared by MWCC and GSM; and Guillaume Chieux, Infrastructure technician and finalist of the Distinctions for Excellence in Internships at Ineco, shared with the students their motivation to become civil engineers. On the other hand, Javier Carvajal, expert in Smart Products; Héctor Sanz, expert in High Speed Maintenance; Aixa Márquez, Building Projects technician; Almudena Herráez, BIM assistant; and Marcos Moreno, CNS - ATM Systems technician, showed the young people how innovation and the most advanced technology that we apply at Ineco can change the way we understand engineering. Our track auscultation trolley thanks to artificial intelligence, DIGAV; the information totem accessible in real time, T-Ais; as well as the development of a video game to promote vertiports and drones in urban environments, were the protagonists of the demonstration part of the meeting.

In line with our Strategic Plan objectives, this conference sought to promote technical disciplines among the participants, to nurture their interest in STEAM careers and to present them as a professional option in early stages of academic development, as well as to highlight engineering as a discipline with a direct impact on people's quality of life.
