The European Train Protection and Signalling System (ERTMS) facilitates interoperability between the different European national networks. Its aim is to establish a common language for the interoperability of the European rail network, a project that brings major improvements in railway operation, allowing internal and cross-border movement of all types of trains, providing greater traffic capacity, higher levels of safety and lower costs.
Ineco has been working for nearly 25 years on the research, development and implementation of this system in Spain and Europe. Participation in the European working groups that define the ERTMS system, such as the ERJU programme or the core group of the system pillar that will lead the harmonisation and standardisation of the future of control, command and signalling systems over the coming years, has positioned the company as a true pioneer.
Thanks to the multidisciplinary team made up of nearly 50 professional ERTMS experts, Ineco has positioned itself as a leading company in its implementation in Europe with important projects such as the technical coordination and supervision of the deployment of the ERTMS system in the European TEN-T strategic corridor network, or the modernisation of the railway systems of the 815 kilometres of the Sydney commuter network.
