20 years ago, Ineco made a commitment to the Port of Valencia, aware of its high capacity for the freight and passenger transport. Since then, the company's relationship with the Port Authority of Valencia has only strengthened, participating, and collaborating with it in the evolution of the port. In 2022, Valenciaport was the fourth container port in Europe, with more than 5 million TEUs, after Rotterdam, Antwerp and Hamburg, and the first European port in the Mediterranean.
The company's presence in the Valencian port has allowed it to gain greater experience and knowledge of the port environment over the years. This has led to Ineco currently collaborating with 18 port authorities in the country's main ports, providing assistance in all areas of engineering and consultancy, both in renewable energies and in railway infrastructure.
One of the latest projects in which Ineco has been able to participate in the Port of Valencia has been the adaptation of the Príncipe Felipe quay railway terminal (for operation with 750-metre-long goods trains), implementing mixed gauge on some tracks on the beach and in the connection to the entrance gate to the Port.
Specifically, Ineco has carried out the design and technical assistance for this project, which is currently in the application phase for entry into service, in addition to developing the maintenance plan for the entire railway infrastructure.
Pilar Valiente, Ineco's National Business Manager: "The Spanish port system, to achieve its objective towards a complete decarbonization, in addition to investing in renewable energies, is investing in connected and sustainable railway infrastructure, and at Ineco, we have the opportunity to participate in this transformation".
A multidisciplinary team
However, Ineco's team in the Valencian Community is not only limited to technical works and projects in the port, but a team of more than 200 professionals works on multiple projects in all areas of mobility.
In addition to the port sector, Ineco deploys its experience in roads, providing support to the Demarcation, and in the railway sector, with projects related to both maintenance and works related to the development of the Mediterranean Corridor, which is strategic for the country's railway development.
Ineco's office in Valencia also provides services for other national and international projects, such as support for the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda in the management of European funds.
According to Pilar Valiente, Ineco's National Business Manager: "The Spanish port system, to achieve its objective towards a complete decarbonization, in addition to investing in renewable energies, is investing in connected and sustainable railway infrastructure, and at Ineco, we have the opportunity to participate in this transformation".
