The UK’s rail network was reaching the limit of its capacity, a solution was needed that didn’t simply delay its saturation but allowed it to cope with increasing demand for many years in the future.
This is the reason why Britain is investing in high speed rail to create space on overcrowded networks and enable large numbers of people to move efficiently.The High Speed 2 (HS2) will improve rail infrastructure in the country, relieving congestion on crowded lines and bringing the whole country closer together.
