Located in the town of Nouasseur, 30 kilometres southeast of Casablanca, Mohamed V International Airport is the most important airport in Morocco, accounting for more than 36% of national air traffic and welcoming around 9.8 million passengers in 2023.
The Moroccan National Airports Office (ONDA) has selected Ineco to draw up a Development Programme for the aeronautical and terminal infrastructures of this airport, which identifies the current problems and defines the dimensioning and design of the infrastructures required to handle traffic in the future, with a special focus on the 2030 Football World Cup, which Morocco will host together with Spain and Portugal.

Investments with a World Cup flavour
With a 2040 and 2050 horizon, the development plan will include passenger traffic, baggage and aircraft movement forecasts. Also, an assessment of the airport's current capacities and measures for their optimisation, as well as development scenarios, identification of current and future needs in terms of road and rail connectivity, and phasing of expansion works.
The organisation of the 2030 Football World Cup represents a unique opportunity to modernise the country's transport infrastructure.
