We drew up the study for the 16 kilometres of the current Line 4 which connects the Tondi district with the old quarter and Üliste, the site of Lennart Meri airport. The analysis included both the infrastructure and the superstructure to define the operating problems deriving mostly from the age of the rolling stock and the tracks, equipment and facilities.
Technical information
Ineco developed the preliminary design, the specifications for the work to be performed on the line and procurement of the new rolling stock. A total of 15 tram cars were replaced with others with greater passenger capacity and a design adapted to the new infrastructure in accordance with European standards and the energy saving requirements.
In addition to modernising the track and the tram cars, Ineco proposed upgrading of five traction power substations and the construction of a new one.
