The Port Authority of Valencia has entrusted Ineco with various expansion and restructuring projects of its infrastructures.
Valencia is Spain's leading container port, the fifth biggest in Europe and is one of the top fifty ports in the world by volume of container traffic. The port handles around 65 million tonnes of freight per annum. It also handles a regular flow of passenger traffic to and from the Balearic Islands and Italy as well as an emerging cruise ship market. It is endowed with specialised high performance facilities for all kinds of traffic and an advanced network of land-based connections by road and rail which enable a high degree of freight transport intermodality.
Technical information
We have also played an active part in upgrading the road accesses, facilitating the transit to terminals and articulating alternative routes for milestone events in the city such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix race week.
The close cooperation between Ineco and the Valencia Port Authority has repeatedly encompassed a wide variety of port projects. Our work on intra-port traffic connections and the mooring zone entailed a thorough reorganisation of traffic patterns and included project engineering of docks that enabled 55,000 m² to be reclaimed from the sea and a significant increase in the number of mooring points for passenger shipping.
No less important is our work in technical assistance, execution control and occupational health and safety coordination of various port-related works of all kinds.
