Ineco is leading the development of an innovative project for the automation of track and infrastructure inspection tasks using drones. This project, carried out in collaboration with HelixNorth and Adif, is based on a "drone-in-a-box" solution, in which an exhaustive safety study has been carried out to enable the operation of automatic drones completely remotely, without the need for a pilot at the take-off or landing site. Following the positive results of the study, Ineco has applied to the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) for authorisation to operate this type of equipment.

HelixNorth has been the manufacturer of the unit being used in this pilot project at the High Speed Maintenance Base in Villarrubia de Santiago, where evidence is being generated on the operation of the drone that will allow verification of the hypotheses put forward in the safety study.

This data will be essential to demonstrate to EASA that this type of technology is suitable and feasible for the automated operations envisaged. This development will revolutionise maintenance and monitoring, increasing efficiency and safety in the sector.

Innovative Aerial Mobility will provide great advantages to society and, for this reason, Ineco is working to discover its full potential, incorporating the use of drones as another tool for the development of our projects. Our company participates in the improvement of standards and regulations and in the development of the U-Space system, both in Spain and in Europe, which has led it to become one of the founding members of SIAM, the first national cluster dedicated to promoting and boosting this sector.
