A delegation of HS2 has visited Spain this week to learn first-hand about the Spanish success story in the development of high-speed rail. The visit focused especially on the testing and commissioning phases, where Ineco has accumulated extensive knowledge since the country's first high-speed line was commissioned in 1992. Ineco's headquarters hosted the first activity of this delegation with two colloquium talks, where the company's teams presented their experience and the support they provide in each of these phases.
Organised by Ineco and Sener, the visit included the participation of Adif, Renfe and the railway interoperability laboratory of CEDEX. The Ágora lounge hosted two talks by Patricia Cabezudo,Operational Risks , Commissioning and Interoperability Director at ADIF, and Beatriz Hernández, head of new rolling stock projects at Renfe. The delegation also visited the Railway Interoperability Laboratory facilities, where its use to reduce and mitigate risks in systems integration was demonstrated. Finally, they will visit the Regulation and Control Centre (CRC) of Atocha and the works of the Access Channel in Valencia, in order to know how the railway planning of the Mediterranean Corridor is being developed and how the multiple commissioning works are being managed.
This initiative is part of the consultancy services provided by Ineco to HS2, in collaboration with Atkins and Systra. Ineco has been involved in the development of high-speed railway in the United Kingdom since 2012.
