Since 2024, our company has had the PROA Program
Ineco has joined Tent España, a coalition of more than 50 large companies that help refugees to access the Spanish labour market through training and employment, including Banco Santander, IKEA, Brico Depôt, PepsiCo and Amazon.
Since 2024, our company has had the PROA Program, a tool that promotes the incorporation of people in a situation of refuge or international protection that, within the Equal Plan, supports access to the labour market for people with different abilities, victims of gender violence, people over 55 years of age, groups at risk of social exclusion and refugees. At Ineco, these people are provided with a personalized incorporation process that includes tutoring during the first few days; accompaniment during the first few months by a mentor to facilitate their entry into daily tasks; the necessary training for the proper performance of their duties and psychological support in case their situation requires it. Within the framework of this program, Ineco collaborates with the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and with the main organizations dedicated to supporting refugees with the aim of improving the employability of beneficiaries of international protection. Our company is in charge of the search for talent among refugees or beneficiaries of international protection with profiles focused on the transport and communications sector.
Celestino Rodríguez, Corporate Coordination Executive Director, participated in a round table of business leaders with the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, as part of Tent España's first anniversary event. In her speech she stressed that “Ineco is talent, diversity and inclusion. We are a company that reacts to social injustices and defends equal opportunities. The Equal Opportunities Plan is the best example of this and the commitment of the Ineco team is the best way to continue moving forward”. Carmen Benayas, head of the PROA program and General Services and Global Mobility Deputy Director, also participated on behalf of Ineco.
“Getting a job is one of the fundamental aspects for a refugee to be able to rebuild his or her life in a country that welcomes him or her and that he or she can call home,” said Amaia Elizalde, director of Tent Spain. “Member companies are leading the way for the labour inclusion of refugees in our country. At Tent Spain, we are committed to helping them drive and scale their recruitment initiatives in order to make a greater impact on the lives of these people.”
Spain currently hosts 423,000 refugees and 254,000 asylum seekers, who have the legal right to work. This number continues to grow, having already reached historic levels. However, many of these people are still unemployed. Refugees and asylum seekers face major barriers to employment, such as limited language skills, lack of professional networks and support networks, gaps in their CVs, as well as difficulties in reconciling childcare and access to transportation to the workplace. In this sense, it is urgent for companies to help reduce these barriers and to hire refugee talent.
Since its launch in November 2023, Tent Spain offers resources and training for HR teams, exchange of best practices and ideas adapted to the Spanish context from Tent's global network, meetings and workshops with other Tent Spain member companies to promote collective learning, and connection with entities that facilitate access to refugee talent.
