Ineco's network of IN women, mINerva, held its first annual awards ceremony. Isabel Pardo de Vera, former Secretary of State for Transport, Sustainable Mobility and the Urban Agenda; and Nerea Luis Mingueza, PhD in Computer Science and artificial intelligence disseminator, were the two winners of these awards, which recognise women who inspire female talent.

The president of Ineco, Sergio Vázquez Torrón, was in charge of closing the event. In his speech, Sergio Vázquez Torrón thanked the award winners for their commitment and courage in giving visibility to women and stated that "Minerva is one of the protagonists of the transformation that Ineco is undergoing. You are part of the culture that permeates this organisation and which has a clear objective: for women to recover the time that has been stolen from them. This is our commitment".

The event also featured a speech by Pilar Cutanda, Financial Director of the Saudi Spanish Train Project Company, the operator of the high-speed train between Mecca and Medina.

Talent and learning

Since its inception in 2021, mINerva has been an open, collaborative and voluntary network, as well as a reference that serves to support and give visibility to female talent at Ineco and organises numerous activities that contribute to the professional and personal growth of its members and promote continuous learning in all areas. The network is open to anyone who wishes to join it through this registration link.

The IN Women programme, which already has more than 50 participants and which this year celebrates its fifth edition, is part of Ineco's commitment to making the company's talent visible, promoting equal opportunities between men and women and generating new spaces that promote the professional development of the company's female professionals.

This commitment has resulted in an increase of almost 10 points in the representation of Ineco's female professionals in the company's management areas, from less than 30% at the beginning of 2022 to almost 40% today. This figure equals the representation of women in Ineco's global workforce as a whole and is well above the percentage of women in technical careers (approximately 25%).
