A Thai delegation headed by the Minister Counsellor of the Thai Embassy in Spain, Supamas Yunyasit, and the Director General of Transport Planning of the Thai Ministry of Transport, Punya Chupanit, visited Ineco with the aim of promoting economic cooperation between Thailand and Spain and exploring business opportunities for its infrastructure programme. During the visit, the Thai delegation was able to learn first-hand about Ineco's experience and knowledge in the development of mobility at a global level. As a benchmark in transport engineering and consultancy, Ineco currently has more than 80 projects on five continents, which makes it an ideal strategic partner to collaborate in the ambitious projects presented by Thailand.

Over the last decade, Thailand has invested heavily in upgrading and modernising its infrastructure.  The aim is to provide the country with greater tourism potential and transport efficiency, increasing its attractiveness for foreign companies to choose Thailand as a gateway to Southeast Asia. Specifically, the meeting discussed opportunities for collaboration on the Landbrige, a strategic initiative to connect the Andaman Sea (Indian Ocean) with the Gulf of Thailand (Pacific Ocean), developing the ports of Ranong and Chumpon and connecting them through a land transport network consisting of a motorway and a 90 km mixed railroad. This corridor will provide an alternative to the congested Strait of Malacca, positioning Thailand as a major player and boosting international trade in the region. Other projects such as the East Economic Corridor, which includes the construction of a 220km high-speed rail line connecting three major airports: Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi (both in Bangkok) and U-tapao (Rayong) to boost the economic development of the provinces east of Bangkok Bay, are also priorities in the region and can rely on the extensive knowledge of the Spanish ecosystem for their development.

The visit of the Thai delegation represents an important step towards the creation of strategic alliances that will benefit both countries and reinforce Ineco's role as a key player in the transport engineering sector.
