The heart of railway maintenance

May 27, 2024

A multidisciplinary team from Ineco has been commissioned by Renfe to carry out the construction and execution management, technical assistance and monitoring and control of the Santa Catalina II works in Madrid, a continuation of the existing maintenance base that was commissioned in 2010. Both now form a single workshop in which the number of train stands has doubled from 4 to 8, and the facilities, railway equipment, offices, storage, boxes, changing rooms, etc. have been improved.

This top-level Renfe facility carries out the daily maintenance of high-speed trains, including cleaning, preventive maintenance, replacement of train components, equipment testing, minor repairs, etc. Santa Catalina II has a new, visibly more modern image and has become a much more efficient and practical base, adapted to the latest technologies.

Since 2002, Ineco has been in charge of project management and technical assistance for the new train maintenance bases built by Renfe in Spain, including seven high-speed trains and the second-level base in Valladolid. A consolidated experience that positions us as leaders in the management and technical control of railway workshop works.
