The president of Ineco, Sergio Vázquez Torrón, participated in the IV edition of the 5G Observatory organised by El Español: “La tecnología en la encrucijada entre el 5G y la inteligencia artificial” (Technology at the crossroads between 5G and artificial intelligence).
In his speech, he highlighted the company's role as a benchmark public engineering company in the application of AI in its solutions and services. An impulse to the transformation towards a more sustainable mobility model and a more agile relationship between the Administration and the citizen. Among other reflections, Sergio Vázquez shared that "Ineco wants to position itself as a leading public company in this path-breaking technology, relying on a participatory process throughout the company, from the bottom up". In this regard, have welcomed the commitment of Ineco's professionals in the steps the organisation is taking to strengthen the use of AI.
To this end, the company has created a multidisciplinary community whose first milestone was the launch of a survey of all employees with the aim of taking the pulse of the company in terms of AI. The results conclude that Ineco's teams are well disposed towards this revolutionary technological development: more than 90% of the company is interested in acquiring additional knowledge of artificial intelligence and 55%, spread across different areas of competence, have a solid knowledge of this technology. More than 400 ideas have also been contributed where AI can be applied to better serve customers.
Ineco has been developing solutions with AI techniques for nearly a decade and has more than 20 projects underway. Among them, the innovation proposal as DiGAV, a device for automated inspection of railway tracks and data processing with artificial intelligence. TWINECO, a digital twin for maintenance of transport infrastructures or CHARLI, an intelligent application for the layout of linear infrastructure alternatives such as railways, roads or highways.
